WipeClean
This policy explains what WipeClean (the “App”) can access on your device, why it needs that access, and what happens to the information involved.
Effective date: August 12, 2026
This policy applies to the WipeClean iOS application. It does not cover third-party apps, services or websites that you may reach from your device.
Photos library (permission-based). To find duplicates and screenshots, to move items into the Private Vault and to compress videos, the App requests access to your photo library. It reads photo and video files and their standard metadata (such as capture date, file size and dimensions) purely to build the groups and estimates you see on screen.
Diagnostics. Basic, non-identifying crash and performance data may be provided by Apple to the developer if you have enabled sharing in iOS Settings. This is controlled by Apple and can be disabled by you at any time.
The App does not ask for your name, address book, location, health data, precise identifiers or advertising profiles.
Library scanning, duplicate grouping, vault storage and video compression are designed to run locally on your iPhone. Your photos and videos are not uploaded to us as part of these features. Items stored in iCloud Photos may be fetched from Apple's service by iOS itself so they can be processed on your device; that transfer is between your device and Apple.
The App keeps only what it needs to operate: local indexes and caches used to display scan results, plus the items you deliberately place in the Private Vault. Deleting a photo through the App uses the standard iOS deletion flow, which moves it to Recently Deleted for the system retention window before permanent removal.
Deleting the App from your device removes its local data, including vault contents and cached scan results. Export anything you want to keep before uninstalling.
The App does not include advertising networks, cross-app tracking or third-party analytics SDKs that profile you. Purchases, if offered, are processed by Apple under Apple's own terms and privacy policy; we never see your payment card details.
Vault items are protected by a passcode you choose within the App and rely on the device-level protections provided by iOS. Keep your device passcode and vault code private; we cannot recover a forgotten vault code.
You can grant, limit or revoke Photos access at any time in iOS Settings, remove vault items from inside the App, and delete the App to erase its local data. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to request access to, correction of or deletion of personal data held by us — contact us and we will respond within the period required by applicable law.
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction) and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us so it can be removed.
This policy may be updated as the App evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new effective date; continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
